Tianeptine (Tynept) is an unconventional antidepressant distinguished by its distinct mechanism of action, setting it apart from conventional antidepressants. It is mainly utilized for addressing mood disorders and also serves additional purposes in managing anxiety and stress-related issues.

USES
Major Depressive Disorder
Anxiety Disorders
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Chronic Pain

DESCRIPTION
Tynept is classified as a tricyclic antidepressant (TCA), though it lacks many of the common side effects associated with TCAs. Unlike traditional antidepressants that increase serotonin levels, tianeptine enhances serotonin reuptake in the brain. Despite this, it has proven to be effective in treating depression and anxiety. It also modulates glutamate receptors and improves neuroplasticity, particularly in the hippocampus, which is associated with mood regulation and stress resilience. Tynept has been found to act as a weak agonist of the mu-opioid receptor, which may contribute to its mood-enhancing and anti-anxiety effects. Read further: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tianeptine
