Grandaxin (Tofisopam) is a tranquilizer and belongs to the group of benzodiazepines (atypical benzodiazepine derivative). Has anxiolytic effect and is not accompanied by a sedative, muscle relaxant or anticonvulsant action. It is psychovegetative regulator, which eliminates various forms of autonomic disorders. It has a mild stimulating activity, improves psychomotor and intellectual functions.

DESCRIPTION
Due to the lack muscle relaxing (myorelaxing) effects the drug can be used in patients with myopathy and myasthenia. Because of atypical chemical structure, in contrast to classical benzodiazepines, Grandaxin at therapeutic doses does not potentiate the effect of alcohol and practically does not cause the development of physical, psychological dependence and withdrawal. Grandaxin is classed as a day tranquilizer.
PACKAGING & DOSAGE
Grandaxin comes in the form of tablets of 50 mg.
The tablets are taken orally. Doses are set individually based on the patient’s condition, the clinical form of the disease and individual sensitivity to the drug.
Adult dose: 50-100 mg, 1-3 times a day. The maximum daily dose of 300 mg.
Children older than 14 years: 50-100 mg, 2 times a day. The maximum daily dose of 200 mg.
To prevent sleep disorders it is recommended not to take the drug after 15-16:00 hours.
Elderly patients and patients with renal insufficiency same as adult dose but with maximum daily dose of 150 mg.
When treating alcohol withdrawal syndrome, prophylaxis or delirium the treatment duration lasts from several days and up to 3-6 weeks.
STORAGE
Store in dry place at room temperature. Do not exceed storage temperature higher than 25 degrees Celcius. Keep away from direct sunlight. Keep locked and away from children.
